Si​mone is an entrepreneur who has spent the last twenty years using her talents to encourage others to tap into theirs.
Simone inspires. Simone empowers. Simone believes everyone should have the tenets to live their best journey.  
​Whether it is a homeless youth or a CEO, Simone helps audiences obtain their dreams.   
A self-described "Nonprofit Junkie," she is a certified-expert in grant writing and has raised millions of dollars for worthy causes in NYC, Atlanta, and New Jersey.  
A native New Yorker and former journalist, Simone was one of the youngest members of the board of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and worked briefly at Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal helping to develop online news.  She was also a reporter and community affairs editor at the Black weekly, the City Sun where she covered controversial news stories concerning race relations in New York City.  

An avid speaker, Simone delights audiences with her direct approach which forces them to live their best journey. Her mentoring has touched several people who have gone on to become noted celebrities and leaders. 
Simone is the founder of Young People Matter (YPM), a growing national nonprofit which provides comprehensive services to homeless youth and others in Atlanta.

Simone also serves on the board of the National Association of Nonprofit Professionals (NANPP) and is an advisory board of the Roddy White Foundation. 
Simone is a recipient of numerous awards for her work including the 2015 Humanitarian Award from the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), the 2014 Norman Borlaug Humanitarian Award, a Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Hank Johnson,  the United Way Be Greater Award from the Atlanta Hawks and Suntrust, the Thomas C. Wilson Youth Services Award from the NAACP-DeKalb County Chapter, several awards from the National Association and the New York Association of Black Journalists  and Woman of the Year by the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.  Simone has a BA  in communications from Hunter College of the City of New York and is the divorced mom of two children.
Fun Facts about Simone 
  • She left journalism to work in the nonprofit sector when she was 25.
  • ​She worked five years as a legal secretary to pay for her college education. 
  • In 2002, she founded NJ's first minority-owned grant writing firm, ​AllWrite Communications.  
  • She met former President Clinton early one morning on the campaign trail in Houston and he asked her, "Do you happen to have a comb?"
  • She has known Fashion Queens' Bevy Smith since they were high school buddies.
  • While they were in college, she won a national student seat on the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) against one of her all-time favorite journalists, Roland Martin. 
  • Her first political run was for a seat on the Georgia Assembly in 2010. 
  • Spent her adolescent/teen years living on the Bronx street where Hip Hop began: Sedgwick Avenue.
  • She is an addicted Facer and believes that Mark Zuckerberg is a national American hero.
  • ​In it's early stages, she turned down a job with Harlem Children's Zone founder Geoffrey Canada and learned a valuable business decision.
  • She is passionate worker and advocate against youth homelessness in America.
