One of the founders of the NAACP, and "the first" to ever receive a Ph.D from Harvard, and born in MA, Dr. WEB DuBois became a citizen of Ghana, spent his final days there and is buried there. Clark University has a banner which is placed inside of his Mausoleum. Dr. DuBois also began the Encyclopedia Africana, at the request of then President Kwame Nkrumah. Many of his works are there at his Pan African Center/Museum run by a retired professor from Cornell and this will be just one of the magnificient stops along your Exploring Ghana Tour. |
